Concerning me

It can be said of me that I have always had an exploratory nature, and a bit of a loner. The great wild spaces feed my soul, and I feel oppressed by cities, noise and crowds. It follows immediately that you will find me in places mostly off the beaten track. Mind you, not in search of ostentatious originality, but because there I find what makes me feel good: trees, wind, ideas, empathetic and mostly silent people, who are perhaps there with me for the same reason.

Photography, and analogue photography in particular, is an exploratory summit for me. It gives me an inner task not to bore my soul, and a mission to observe. In my everyday life I spend most of the sun's laps in front of a computer, programming, interpreting data, analysing satellite images and studying the stress of vegetation. All nice things, but they have to follow strict logical patterns and consistency.

The exploration of places, of ideas, and photography with them, are for me the living space in which to breathe and invent. Stories above all, because storytelling has always been one of the greatest frontiers of human exploration, and it can be done in extremely clever ways, like photography, or writing. The important thing is to tell something, and apart from the tediousness of life with which I could have filled this page, that is why I am here.

A few more steps, and the unknown becomes a welcoming place.
